B IS FOR BUTTERMILK MOON

BUTTERMILK MOON

Over the car park she catches my eye,

Buttermilk moon in an apricot sky.

Clearing the woods as she passes me by,

Buttermilk moon in a lavender sky.

Above the house tops she rises so high,

Buttermilk moon in an indigo sky.

  1. B is also for Blue Moon. Have a peek out your window on Friday and you will see it – although I suspect it will be more of Isabel’s apricot than really blue. A blue moon happens every three years or so when you get two full moons in the same calendar month. This July we had the first full moon on the 2nd and so the second one comes on the 31st. There won’t be another one till 2018. July’s full moon is also known as the Thunder Moon according to the Farmer’s Almanac because of the summer storms – and yes, we’ve had a couple of those too… Meanwhile warmth and sunshine? Once in a blue moon…
